      <description>&lt;p&gt;The WHO European Regional Obesity Report 2022 reveals that overweight and obesity rates have reached epidemic proportions across EU and are still escalating, with none of the 53 Member States currently on track to meet the WHO Global Non-communicable Disease (NCD) target of stopping the rise in obesity by 2025.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;COVID-19 lockdowns have induced further shifts in diet and activity patterns, expected to affect population health in years ahead. Initiatives and political interventions have targeted obesity, albeit the progressive increase in rates heavily questions the efficacy of current systemic approaches. Particularly, prevalence in childhood &amp;amp; adolescence is alarming, with psychological / psychosocial impact and risks of adulthood obesity and NCDs2 increasing lifetime excess direct costs.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;PowerizeD is an innovative EU funded project aiming to develop breakthrough technologies of digitized and intelligent power electronics to enable sustainable and resilient energy generation, transmission and applications&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Objectives:&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;O1 Intelligence for More Efficiency and Greener Operation&lt;/strong&gt;: Increase the efficiency of power electronics devices and systems on all technical levels of the applications and domains from the device level, over power modules and components up to power electronic systems. This will enable a reduction of the power losses beyond 25% on system/application level compared to the state-of-the-art by intelligent control and optimized operation measures and will also be applicable to both, silicon and advanced wide-bandgap, devices.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;PHYSICS is a joint effort of global leaders in ICT integrators, technology producers, research centers, and universities with a mutual aim to showcase the potential of the Function-as-a-Service paradigm and foster its wide deployment by application developers, platform providers and cloud service providers.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;The PHYSICS project will provide:&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;Graphical view of the application flow with drag and drop commands to facilitate the creation of pipeline of functions (FaaS)&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;Abstraction and application component reuse through intuitive flow programming approaches incorporating reusable design patterns&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;Global Continuum Layer to easily deploy functions, organizing multiple application objectives at the same time in a multi-cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Publications&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Farming is facing many economic challenges in terms of productivity and cost-effectiveness, as well as an increasing labour shortage partly due to depopulation of rural areas. Furthermore, reliable detection, accurate identification and proper quantification of pathogens and other factors affecting both plant and animal health, are critical to be kept under control in order to reduce economic expenditures, trade disruptions and even human health risks.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;AFarCloud will provide a distributed platform for autonomous farming that will allow the integration and cooperation of agriculture Cyber Physical Systems in real-time in order to increase efficiency, productivity, animal health, food quality and reduce farm labour costs. This platform will be integrated with farm management software and will support monitoring and decision- making solutions based on big data and real time data mining techniques.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
